paris for the weekend.

To be honest, I was slightly disappointed in Paris last summer. After living in a castle in the French countryside, Paris just felt like another big city.

But when I arrived in Paris last night, something clicked. It felt familiar and cozy and like the most special place in the world. What was I even thinking?

I could watch the sunset over the Seine every day for the rest of my life.

I make a conscious effort to be outside during sunset every day.

I love sunset walks because they can happen anywhere in the world. And because watching the sunset makes me realize how tiny the world actually is.

P.S. A little list of my favorite things.

Le Moulin Brégeon was the perfect place to spend the first days of autumn. Pumpkins in the garden, burgandy flowers in the windows, nights by the fireplace with icy toes, hazy afternoons in pine forests. We even roasted marshmallows.

Just when I think my love for France has maxed out, I go and find this place.

P.S. More photos of Le Moulin Brégeon on Facebook.

I love this watercolor Zac did of me the day I stayed in my pajamas until dinner and worked on this video.

Painting is something I just don't understand, so watching people create beautiful pieces in minutes is pretty awe-inspiring to me. See more of Zac's work here and here.

Here at Le Moulin Bregéon, we spend hours preparing meals and take sunset walks through the forest. We only eat by candle light (even breakfast) and picnics consist of duckfat fries and garlic mayonnaise. Homemade nutella ice cream, serious attempts to make cat videos, and hysterical giggling is just the norm.

I'm so happy here.

P.S. Dinner at Le Moulin.

I'm currently in the Loire Valley, living and working in a chateau with a hilarious/amazing group of people; artists, chefs, winemakers, Frenchies, Austrailians, Charlestonians. Basically, I never want to leave.

I put this little video together about our late night dinners filled with incredible food & wine, incessant giggling, and lots of crazy cat talk.

A few scenes from the day we found an abandonded vineyard and I consequently fell in love with grapes.

Grapes have never been my fruit of choice (unless frozen and shared with my sister) but in France they're different. With a supertart flavor and crunchy seeds, these little green grapes are magical.

We harvested as many as we possibly could and ate grapes until we felt sick. It was glorious.
