london.

portabello market

It's funny how after being in France for so long, London felt like a comfort zone. (When I went to London in high school I thought it was as exotic as Chandler and Joey).

Perusing the Portobello Market, finding a favorite breakfast spot, shopping at Loft (no association to Ann Taylor), and lounging around Kensington Gardens were all highlights. High tea at the Dorchester was supercivilized and the mostly overcast weather just seemed right. I ate some of the best sushi of my life (thank you, Nobu) and I drank cappucinos and rosé wine like it was my job.

A holiday from a holiday.

ah my husband and I just got back from London (went this weekend) and felt the EXACT same way! We live in Amsterdam (moved two months ago from the U.S.) and in London we were feeling like we were home! All the mexican restaurants and English speakers.. it just felt so familiar, it was a lovely break from the COMPLETELY different world that we have in the Netherlands. Also, we went to Nobu and holyyy moses. It was a religious experience - best sushi ever!

I am sooo going to Nobu next time I travel there on a holiday! It's one of my favourite cities too :) I love the architecture and the light! (so different from the one in my home city Barcelona).

I'm with Faith! Your pictures are fantastic!

Hands down, my favorite city in Europe. Yes, more than Paris, more than Barcelona... It's just the best.

I feel the same kind of comfort about London, surely it is the language, but also it seems to be the perfect blend of europe and the states all rolled into one very lovely city. this reminds me, i need to plan a trip back....

Although not as romantic as Paris, I love my days in London because they are so quirky and full of the unexpected. Plus, it's a lot closer to me than Paris, which always is a plus.
