We showed up in Bordeaux under the impression that we could just hop on a moped (I'm fixated on mopeds, clearly) and go explore vineyards at our leisure. Turns out, you kind of have to plan in advance. A woman at the tourist office helped us find the one and only tour with two spots open -- a full day of walking with wine tastings at two different chateaux. We were way into it.
We walked through vineyards and fields of wildflowers for hours and hours, observed the hilarious characters in our tour group (the dynamics between everyone felt high-school-field-trip-meets-Seinfeld), ate grapes off the vine, fell in love with the curt but adorable chateau owner (see fourth photo), made new Québécois friends and most importantly, drank lots of to-die-for wine.

That fifth photo is postcard-perfect! So envious. Wish I were wine tasting in France!

that looks amazing.
i love mopeds too :)
rode on along the coast of Cozumel and basically dream of it every day
That chateau owner looks a little bit terrifying, but I think I'd like to meet her, anyway, especially if there were wine involved!
I was just in Bordeaux for a wedding May. It was so incredibly relaxing, quiet and beautiful. Your pictures just make me want to go back!
