sagrada familia.

Barcelona is home to Gaudí's Sagrada Familia Cathedral. Never in my life have I been so in awe of a church. I squealed at first sight.

Of course I've seen it and read about it my entire life, but seeing the Sagrada Familia in person was unlike anything I've ever imagined, much less seen. It's other-worldly. (I felt the same way about the Eiffel Tower).

P.S. Doesn't it remind you of a sand drip-castle?

I loved visiting this church. I did not love climbing the stairs inside the church quite as much. Oh, but Barcelona is near and dear to my heart. Such an amazing city. I have loved following your travels there!

i was not able to capture this church without somehow taking pics that were made up of 99% scaffolding. yours look great, though!

same here @Jenni! My pics have banners in them that were hanging from the top of this beautiful architectural masterpiece... so needless to say, not great images. :) Olivia, your images are fantastic!!! xo

Oh my gosh, it looks so amazing now! I saw la sagrada familia when I was in Barcelona in 2004, but the spires were nothing like they are now!

I LOVE LOVE this cathedral! After studying abroad in Europe, this one was my all time favorite! Did you check out the inside?? If I remember correctly, it was open air and there were orange trees scattered about...an absolutely amazing experience!

Enjoy :)

Enjoy. Barcelona is a beautiful city.

I love Barcelona... Gaudi is incredible - a total genius, but a little whacky!
