Lately I've been hypersensitive to the world around me -- focusing in on unsuspecting, raw moments, embracing the gray areas and blurring the lines.

I'm beginning to realize that although some of the most beautiful things in life are the shortest lived, it doesn't make those things any less powerful.

Those photos are stunning. The very best moments in life usually are fleeting, but you're right, that doesn't mean they aren't every bit as powerful.

well said lady--it might just make them more powerful.

i took a family trip to kiawah in 5th grade and the place holds a special place in my heart. i sometimes think i'm really in love with you and your life because i know you're so close to the words pat conroy writes. the south is his greatest character and you're there living in and with it.

ps: teach me to glow as you and your friends do?

Beautiful pics! I think fleeting moments are powerful because they are fleeting, too long and they have to be toned down so we don't burn out.

Olivia, such a beautiful and well-said statement. I tried to be in every moment while I was in Maui because I knew each sunset would be fleeting. But by really being in the moment, the moments stay with you and have an impact on you.

That's well said. It is hard to capture the moments and make them last longer, but never the I try. Moments tend to stay with me as "longings," which can make them last quite longer.

Nice pictures!
