My flight back to Charleston was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Sunday morning, I changed it to Monday. Monday morning, I pushed it back to Tuesday. I just couldn't bring myself to leave.
I appreciated home this time more than ever. I don't know if it was the magic that is our backyard or the fact that I won't be back for a while. Either way it was an idyllic week, marked by beautiful outdoor dinners with roasted veggies, caprese salads, white wine, and strawberry cake.

What a lovely setting, and I adore your photos. It's no wonder you didn't want to leave! It's so sweet that you and your family are so close. Your grandmother is adorable. I was just in your neck of the woods for a week at the beach ... it was perfection. I didn't want to leave. But it's nice to be home too. I just posted part 1 of our beach trip on my blog. I wish I were still there!
i think i could spend all night in that backyard... i understand why it was hard for you to leave!! good food, good company, and that feeling that goes along with knowing you belong there, with those wonderful people you call family... there is nothing like it.
