One of the things I miss most about France is the lazy alfresco lunches.* These lunches would last for hours upon hours. Wine and dessert were always included.
My family had the kind of lunch at Husk that reminded me of my summer days in France (besides the tiny detail that we were eating Southern, local, exquisite cuisine). We sat on their Charleston porch under a big magnolia tree and just revealed in the perfection of the day.
Unsurprisingly, dessert was our favorite part. S'mores bread pudding, coffee cake with doughnut ice cream, pecan pie and an apple tart with smoked ice cream -- my family really knows how to live.
*A short glimpse of lunch in France. I'm eating a lemon tart. Only words I can make out: "I'm dying. I'm dying right now."

I've been dying to try their lunch, but I've heard you need at least a two-hour block and that's just not happening! Tragic.

YUM! I'm going backpacking Europe this summer/fall. I plan on going to France! If you for some reason go to Europe, we should meet up!! (I like planting this idea in all of my friend's heads! Haha) Have a nice day! :)

I'm not sure if I can keep looking at your blog. I'm not sure it is good for me to want to crawl into someone's visual world as much as I do when I scroll through your posts! But, I'm not exactly known for doing what's good for me anyway. So, I'll be back... a lot!

I just ate at Husk for dinner this past weekend, and holy cow... I didn't think anything could top Fig, but Husk was sooooo good. And that magnolia tree is incredible. Can you imagine eating out there when it's blooming?
These photos are delicious!! I graduate in June and Marc and I are headed to France for a month. I can't wait for long and relaxed lunches. His family has a dairy farm in France so copious amounts of the stinkiest and best cheeses are always at every meal. LOVE YOUR PHOTOS OLIVIA!!! XO!
