the eiffel tower.

first time seeing the eiffel tower.

When I saw it for the first time, I almost cried. Usually things that are built up your entire life are inevitably disappointing... but the Eiffel Tower was even bigger and more beautiful than I ever imagined.

121 years that she's standing here in Paris, and she's still the same, she doesn't show signs of age !

Enjoy your French trip

I agree completely! It's just enormous, isnt it? The Mona Lisa was disappointing, but never the Louvre!

(have to give a quick recommendaion - there's a great restaurant called L'entrecote in Paris - real steak frites!)

i remember when i went to paris, all i could think about was the french girl from the sex and the city finale who said that the eiffel tower was now "in-tol-er-able" in her french accent. i felt so silly because i got so excited every single time i saw it. i was just so happy to be in paris and it kinda just reminds you that you're there.

i felt the EXACT same way! got all teary and blissed out and then i couldnt stop pointing the tower out every time it popped up on the vista while we were in paris. i hope you get a chance to go to the top of the notre dame, the view is incredible!

*Sigh* It is, isn't it? Did you take a stroll in the park not far from where the tower stands? Anthony and I went in fall, and all the colors of the trees were simply beautiful!

Isn't it wonderful? I made the mistake of not going to one of the tiers and if I ever get the chance to do it again-I will!

You know, for some reason reading your blog and looking through your beautiful pictures make me SO happy. It really does. Sometimes I don't check your blog for weeks just so when I do check it I know there will be a lot of new posts to read.
Coincidently, I went to cofc for a year in 2007 (I was an exchange student).
Anyway, I just want to say that you are awesome, and that you make me feel good about life. Hope you are having fun in europe!

I felt the same way, I was awestruck, and speechless, but I felt the same way about Paris, the city itself...once you go there, you are always going to be thinking about going back.

I arrived in Paris for the first time at rush hour, climbed the stairs from the Metro. It had just begun to rain. I crossed the street, turned a corner, and there it was, peeking through the trees. Incroyable!

Paris is magical. Have fun.
