This weekend I finally made it to Wildflour Pastry, a quaint bakery on Spring Street that opened up a few months ago. I fell in love the minute I walked in, solely because the owner had two sweet family members in the kitchen for a "baking lesson."

The chocolate fudge cookie was out-of-this-world... crunchy in the right spots, gooey and brownie-like in others. The sunflowers and red accents gave the shop such a cozy feel that had me wanting to curl up in the window seat all day.

I'm planning my trip back as soon as possible to experience the notorious "Sticky Bun Sundays," (which might be the cutest idea I've ever heard). I'm ecstatic, to say the least.

i bet those big blocks of butter just make you want to start baking immediately! i even have that reaction and i'm not quite as much a baker as you are. i did work in a fancy ice cream shop where we baked all our own fudge and brownies and cookies and waffle cones. we used the finest ingredients like imported chocolates and local cream and butter and excellent espresso...it was seriously so delicious. we had this ice cream that had giant chunks of homemade fudge in it that i ate all the time and believe it or not never gained weight! i decided that fine quality ice cream is actually GOOD for you! anyway sorry for the book. bakeries get my memories flowing...

I often have to work Sunday mornings so I stop by for Sticky Buns to treat my employees. Outta this WORLD!
Another fave is Village Bakeries Peanut Butter/Chocolate Cake if you're ever in the Old Village.
