I have fallen head-over-heels in love with a bakery. When I heard baked was opening in Charleston and their only other location was in Brooklyn, I knew it would be amazing. They are famous for their homemade marshmallows and their sweet-salty combinations, but I went for a classic chocolate chunk cookie and a soy latte. I meant to save it for after lunch but accidentally ate the entire thing. Besides the perfect quality of their baked goods, baked has such an inviting atmosphere with their retro colors and modern designs.

Since our Sunday morning spent at baked, I've been constantly daydreaming about my own future bakery, making notes and sketching outlines in class. What can I say? I loved it.

Oh yum! I have the Baked cookbook and it's great: http://www.amazon.com/Baked-Frontiers-Baking-Matt-Lewis/dp/1584797215

I can totally see you opening up your own bakery, by the way.

We are so kindred spirits. I am a former English major (current English teacher) and all I dream about is opening a bakery.

I love a good bakery. I'm still looking for a cozy, great bakery close by. I think my town is missing out.

I've always thought it would be fun to have a bakery too.

And they even have Stumptown coffee!!! I want to go to there!

You had me at homemade marshmallows. Makes me want to finally get on planning that Charleston getaway the hubs and I have been talking about!

I'm jealous :) I wish we had stuff like this in Switzerland! The only place I can get cupcakes/ American baked goods is at a Starbucks (3 hours away!) and as you can imagine, even *pictures* of these sweets are better!!
When I get home this summer I think I'm going to try to convince my friends that we need to road-trip down to Charleston (we could go to Brooklyn, but this location looks so lovely I just can't resist!).

I have their cookbook but I doubt that my baking can do all their goodies justice. You make me want to move to Charleston.
